Optiver is a trading firm with a difference. We are a market-maker who takes our people and our technology seriously. Our Trading and IT teams work together as the right and left hand of the business and it is this level of integration that keeps our Traders at the top of their game.  We are proud of the state-of-the-art systems we have built, and consistently strive to improve every day. Our speed to the market is crucial to our success and this is why we concentrate on sourcing the most advanced software, the fastest applications and up to date technology. We enjoy a flat management structure and a casual yet driven working environment.

We are steeped in heritage having been founded in Europe in 1986, where we focused on equity options on the European Options Exchange. We have grown from strength to strength thanks to our great people, and brilliant minds, and are now one of the largest derivative trading groups on the Australian, Asian and European exchanges with a growing presence in the USA. We specialise dealing mainly in derivatives, shares and bonds. As we are a propriety trading firm, we are the principal investor in our business. What this means is that we have no clients and as a result we can afford to continually invest in our own growth. We have offices in Amsterdam, Chicago, Hong Kong, Sydney and Taipei. We have had a physical presence in Australia since 1996 where we started with a team of 2 people. Due to our continued growth we now have over 200 employees and are still growing.  At Optiver we don’t believe in hierarchy, and as such enjoy a flat management structure and a casual yet driven working environment. These are some of the many reasons we were voted Australia’s #1 “BRW Great Place to Work” in 2013.
